Professor Yvon Lebranchu

Professor Lebranchu attended medical school in Rennes and served his residency in Grenoble, France, after which he received his medical degree in 1975. He gained a PhD in Immunology in 1979 and subsequently became Assistant Professor of Clinical Immunology in 1981 and later Professor of Clinical Immunology in 1992 at the University of Tours, France.

He became Head of the Transplantation and Clinical Immunology Unit at the University Hospital of Tours in 1985, and has been Head of the Research Unit on Dendritic Cell Immunosuppression and Grafts since 2002.

Professor Lebranchu is a Past-President of the French Society of Transplantation and the French Association of University Professors in Immunology. He is a member of several international societies including the International Society of Transplantation, the American Society of Transplantation, and the International Society of Clinical Immunology, and was the co-chair of the last meeting of the European Society of Organ Transplantation in Paris. He is also the President of the French national board responsible for appointing professors in medical immunology.

Professor Lebranchu is the author of more than 200 publications in the fields of immunology and transplantation.
